Humidity controlled musical instrument storage systems
For musical enthusiast, protecting musical instruments from moisture and humidity is a top priority. What you may not know is high humidity levels can cause damage to wooden musical instruments over time. Maintaining ideal humidity levels is essential to protecting your wooden musical instruments – like acoustic guitars, and violins – from cracks, shrinkage, and warping.

A wooden instrument should ideally be kept at about 40-60% humidity as this range is supposed to produce the best sound quality, and the least stress on the wood. But the absolute worst thing you can do is change up the humidity frequently and quickly, as this put stress on the wood and the seams

Humidity’s Effect on Wooden Instruments
Nearly all guitars and other musical instruments made from wood are built in an environment where humidity is closely controlled and monitored.
Those who build the instruments know that wood is susceptible to warping that can alter the tone and timbre of the instrument, or even worse, cause it to crack during the manufacturing process. This is because low humidity levels cause wood to lose natural moisture content.

Once purchased, it’s up to you, the owner, to properly maintain and store your investments. This means protecting your wooden instruments from damage by maintaining ideal humidity and that is why we recommend our Musical Instrument Dry Cabinets
